Second hike set for Saturday at DePauw Nature Park

The second hike of 2023 is scheduled this Saturday, Feb. 11 as part of the hiking tour in Putnam County.

The hike will be at the DePauw University Nature Park beginning at 9 a.m. The group will meet in the parking lot and hike to the quarry.

Organizers will highlight the history of the quarry and its operations and the geologic history of the rocks found there. Then the hike will switch to what lives in the quarry and the effect visitors can have when they visit.

DePauw staff will be on hand to share their interests and knowledge about this unique habitat.
