Tornado warning canceled for Greencastle, Fillmore areas

A tornado warning issued earlier for east central Putnam County has been canceled as of 12:36 p.m.

The original warning, issued 20 minutes earlier, indicated that the storm would pass through the Greencastle and Fillmore areas.

Scanner traffic indicated that rotation was seen in a cloud near Putnam County Hospital by Chris Edwards, severe weather specialist for the Putnam County Emergency Management Agency. Edwards added that no funnels or tornado was seen, just a rotating wall cloud.

By approximately 12:30 p.m., the sun was shining in downtown Greencastle. Edwards reported that as of 12:45 p.m. the storm was out of the county and weakened.
