Third spring hike set for Saturday afternoon

DePauw Nature Park

The third hike of the 2023 will be at DePauw University Nature Park west of Greencastle.

The hike, which will start at 1 p.m., will be led by Tim and Kate Jedele of Greencastle.

The nature park is an ideal spot for frogs, toads and salamanders who all breed in the spring.

The group will check out hot spots for spring breeding amphibians. There are many spring ephemeral ponds in the park. Organizers will scope out some egg masses for everyone to see.
