Service Above Self

Tasked with defining what the Rotary motto “service above self” means to them, four local high-schoolers celebrate their accomplishments in the annual Rotary Speech Contest, hosted by the Greencastle club recently. All county high schools had representation with (front from left) Gabi Simonson of North Putnam taking home first place, Keaton Chew of South Putnam in second, Andrea Nees of Cloverdale in third and Emily Gray of Greencastle in fourth. Simonson went on to compete in the Rotary District 6560 contest earlier this month. Rotarians joining the contestants are Jacqui Ellis, judge; Hannah Cline, who organized the contest; Tammy Keenan, judge; club President Scott Monnet; and Jared Jernagan, judge.
