Auditions for 'Grease' set next week

Director Lita Sandy will have two sessions of auditions for the Putnam County Playhouse’s June production of the musical “Grease.”

The first session will be Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m., while the second session will be Monday, April 3 at 7 p.m. Both sessions will be at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre.

Auditions are open to performers aged 12 and up. Those who attend should prepare a musical selection of about 16 measures, and an accompanist will be provided. There will also be readings from the script and a dance audition. Attendees should also bring appropriate shoes for dancing and knee pads for floor work, if available.

The musical will open the 62nd season with performances from June 8-10 and from June 14-17.

Vocal direction for the production is by Debby Lambert and the musical director is Morgan Asher. Choreography is by Tara Gardner.
