County Jail

Fourteen people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 11:59 p.m. Brett A. Warren, 30, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated with injury, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 7:44 p.m. Sarah M. Ruehl, 39, Cloverdale, was taken into custody on local warrant.

• At 5:46 p.m. Hugh E. Rankin, 24, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for burglary and theft.

• At 9:30 a.m. Clinton C. Chandler, 31, Greencastle, was booked in for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and probation violation.

• At 4:24 a.m. Steven R.N. Whitaker, 29, Monrovia, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery and strangulation.

Saturday

• At 11:44 p.m. Natasha L. Haring, 44, Plainfield, was taken into custody on a Marion County warrant.

• At 4:47 p.m. Rashelle K. Daugherty, 40, Reelsville, was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 3:17 a.m. Kyal A. Campbell, 31, Poland, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 2:46 a.m. Shane E. Wheeler, 49, Terre Haute, lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Friday

• At 8:08 p.m. Robert S. Heller, 54, Roachdale, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 3:53 a.m. Dillon Smith, 29, Brownstown, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 1:07 a.m. Jacob A. Locke, 23, no address listed, was booked in on a warrant.

Thursday

• At 2:05 a.m. Terry S. Harris-Lockhart, 29, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a Lake County warrant.

Tuesday, March 28

• At 1:45 p.m. Chelsea D. Powers, 20, Roan, Ind., was taken into custody on a local warrant.

City Police

One summons and one citation were issued in recent activity reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 10:17 p.m. Sunday, Erin Owen, 48, Greencastle, was issued a summons into court for possession of a controlled substance.

Officer Billy DeWitt stopped Owen on Veterans Memorial Highway.

• At 5:50 a.m. Monday, Dylan Hyatt, 24, Fishers, was issued a citation by Officer DeWitt.

Hyatt was ticketed on Bloomington Street for disregarding a traffic control device.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to five incidents since Thursday afternoon:

• At 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident on County Road 200 West south of County Road 125 South. Firefighters arrived at 1:43 and assisted with patient care. GFD went back into service at 1:58 p.m.

• At 11:54 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Greencastle High School for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:56 and were advised by maintenance that the alarm was caused by dust from construction. GFD went back into service at 12:04 p.m.

• At 11:20 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched for a tree in the roadway on U.S. 231 at Kersey Road. Firefighters found pieces of a tree at 11:27 and removed them. GFD went back into service at 11:31 p.m.

• At 1:53 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 10 N. Locust St. for an electrical hazard. Firefighters arrived at 2:02 a.m. and found that a tree had fallen on communications lines behind a residence. The homeowner was advised to avoid the lines and contact their provider. GFD went back into service at 2:07 a.m.

• At 4:32 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Reece Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:32 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The activated detector head was cleaned and the alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:42 a.m.

Additionally, GFD responded to four medical assists during this timeframe.
