Greencastle started off a back-to-back outing against Montgomery County opposition with a 14-2 win over Southmont Friday night.

The Mounties scored first when Abba Stokes led off with a single, Jenna Grino drew a walk and Chelsea Veatch hit a sac fly to bring in Stokes.

Grino was caught going for second and a strike out of Dara Watson ended the early threat.

The Tiger Cubs hit back hard in the bottom half of the inning as four-straight singles from Sydney Lantz, Elise Lausee, Emma Hunter and Kenzie Epley forced a run in while a Gloria Brewer sac fly made it 2-1.

Allie Beaman and Ali Hassler added singles that plated a run each while Beaman stole home to make it 5-1 after an inning of play.

Lantzy started the second inning with a single, later stealing home, while Beaman hit a single to plate a run that made it 7-1 heading into the third.

Lausee singled in the first run of the inning before Hunter doubled down the left field line to plate two more runs and Epley followed with a two-run home run to left center to make it 12-1.

Hassler singled to bring in a run later in the inning and Beaman took home again as the hosts led 14-1.

Veatch doubled home a run in the fifth inning but Hassler got a fly out and ground out to end the game.

Hassler earned her third win of the season in the circle, scattering seven hits across five innings, allowing two runs, both earned, walking a pair of batters while striking out eight.

Hunter drove in three runs on two hits while Epley, Beaman and Hassler drove in a pair of runs each.

The Tiger Cubs return to action this morning against Crawfordsville at 10 a.m.
