County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 7:05 a.m. Darrel R. Skinner, 39, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 2:17 a.m. Richard J. Hudson, 48, Roachdale, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 12:01 a.m. Raven S. Branagin, 30, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

Sunday

• At 10:36 p.m. Kyle C. Tinker, 31, Kokomo, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 3:50 a.m. Jessie Hensley, 56, Coatesville, was housed at the jail for domestic battery, strangulation and intimidation.

Saturday

• At 4:51 p.m. Robert W. Shoemaker, 41, Greencastle, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.

• At 10:54 a.m. Tracy W. Burk, 54, Reelsville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Friday

• At 10:04 p.m. Samuel B. Terrell, 51, Brownsburg, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

Thursday

• At 3 p.m. Valerie L. Ricketts, 36, Rockville, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and on a pair of warrants.

• At 2:04 p.m. Michael P. Crawford, 43, Rockville, was lodged at the jail for dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.

City Police

One arrest was reported in recent activity of Greencastle Police officers:

• At 12:42 p.m. Saturday, Timothy G. Arnold, 33, Spencer, was arrested by Officer Darrel Bunten.

Taken into custody at the Putnam County Public Library, Arnold was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a local warrant for failure to appear.

Two recent summons were also issued by city officers:

• At 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Ray Akers, 61, Greencastle, was issued a summons by Officer Chris Helmer.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Akers was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

• At 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jesus Rodriguez, 21, Cloverdale, was given a summons by Officer Helmer.

Stopped along Indianapolis Road, Rodriguez was cited for operating without ever obtaining a license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six incidents since Friday evening:

• At 7:58 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to the Greencastle Elks Lodge for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:01 and were advised that the alarm system was reset prior to their arrival. GFD went back into service at 8:04 p.m.

• At 11:35 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched for a high-angle rescue at 505 N. U.S. 231. Firefighters arrived at 11:42 and were advised by a parent that a child had crawled onto a fallen tree traversing a ravine, and that the child could not get off. A ladder was used for the child to come off the tree. GFD went back into service at 12:08 p.m.

• At 5:53 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 922 N. Madison St. for a smoke investigation. Firefighters arrived at 6:03 p.m. and found a recreational burn. GFD went back into service at 6:06 p.m.

• At 11:11 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to an apartment at 1138 Castlebury Dr. for a possible structure fire. Firefighters arrived at 11:18 and found that smoke inside was from cooking. GFD went back into service at 11:29 a.m. A box alarm was ordered but shortly disregarded.

• At 9:36 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 106 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:39 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:43 p.m.

• At 5:31 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:36 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:46 a.m.

Additionally, GFD responded to four medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
