Tax bills mailed out to property owners

Friday, April 14, 2023

If they haven’t already done so, Putnam County property owners should see their property tax statements very soon.

Putnam County Treasurer Kathy Minnick recently announced to all Putnam County property owners that as of April 13, the 2022 payable 2023 tax statements have been mailed. She has indicated the statements will not be mailed in the pink envelopes again this year due to a product shortage.

The spring installment is due Wednesday, May 10, and the fall installment is due Monday, Nov. 13.

Anyone who does not receive their bill may request a duplicate by contacting the Putnam County Treasurer’s Office via phone at 653-4510 or e-mail treasureroffice@co.putnam.in.us.

Failure to receive a statement will not relieve property owners of paying taxes and/or penalties that may be due.

Taxes may be paid at any of the following banks located in Putnam County: First Financial, First National, Old National, North Salem State, Teachers Credit Union or Tri-County. Those paying at banks must bring their tax statements to do so. The banks will not accept a payment after the due date.

Taxes may also be paid online at https://www.govtechtaxpro.com/, https://enoticesonline.com/put or https://www.certifiedpayments.net/ using bureau code 3115129.

Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before the due date ensure a penalty is not assessed.

The Putnam County Treasurer’s Office will accept cash, check, money order or credit/debit cards. Payment by debit/credit card or electronic check will incur a processing fee.

  • Received my property tax bills in the mail today 4/17/23.

Why is the return address on the envelope -

"Putnam County Treasurer, PO Box 728, CLOVERDALE IN 46120" ???

  • Interesting how late these bills were mailed out. Most payments of this amount are due 30-45 days out. There isn’t even a week or so grace period. It would have been nice to know that my taxes went up 13% sooner than 23 days before they’re due.

  • It’s nice to have police, fire and EMS, and to get the streets plowed when it snows. Among many other things our tax money goes toward.

  • I also wondered about the mailing address (Cloverdale instead of the Courthouse). Maybe the Treasurer should explain that.
