CLOVERDALE — Motorists on U.S. 231 in Cloverdale will find lane restrictions on the town’s south side beginning on or after Monday, May 1.

The Indiana Department of Transportation on Monday announced restrictions on U.S. 231 (Main Street) for a bridge replacement project.

One lane will be restricted on the bridge over Doe Creek between Morris Street and State Road 42. It will be down to one, 11-foot lane. The restrictions are expected to last through early November, weather permitting.

This contract was awarded to White Construction for more than $3.5 million for a project involving phased construction, with traffic being maintained by flaggers and barrels. INDOT will update the public on future restrictions.

The project also involves culvert work on U.S. 231 approximately 1.5 miles south of State Road 42. The entire contract is expected to be completed in November.
