The Chargers added three runs in the bottom of the second but the visitors steamed along as Miller singled in the first run of the third, later scoring on a steal of home, before Stacks plated a run with a single to make it 15-5.

The Cadets jumped out to a 5-0 lead after an inning and kept the pressure up to knock the Clovers out in five innings.

Callie Smith recorded the lone RBI for Cloverdale, knocking in Hailey Caulkins after the latter tripled with two outs in the second inning.

"Cascade is definitely the best team we have played so far,” Cloverdale head coach Jaime Steffy said. “They are very fast, athletic, cover a lot of ground defensively and are a very fundamental sound team. That is a possible state finalist caliber type team.

"We competed and did some good things tonight. Yes, we weren't happy that we lost to a very good team, but we came out of the game with definitely some positive things to build upon and help our team continue to improve.”

Another Southmont error allowed the hosts to add a run in the second while a misplay turned a Spidel groundout into a two-run play that made it 7-0 after three innings.

Long would add a final run in the sixth to complete the win.
