SECTIONAL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL DRAWS

The IHSAA Baseball and Softball State Tournament draws occurred Sunday with all four Putnam County schools finding out their assignments. In baseball (top), all four schools play at Parke Heritage for Class 2A Sectional No. 44 with North Putnam facing the hosts in the opening game and Greencastle playing Southmont in the second game. The winner of those two games will play for a spot in the final opposite the winner of the game between South Putnam and Cloverdale. In softball, Greencastle and North Putnam received byes at Southmont for Class 2A Sectional No. 44 (middle). South Putnam faces South Vermillion in the opening game with the winner to face the Tiger Cubs for a spot in the final. Parke Heritage plays the host Mounties in the second game with the winner facing the Cougars for the other finals spot. Cloverdale plays in Class A Sectional No. 57 at Clay City (bottom) and will face Bloomfield in the second game. The winner of that game will face the winner of Shakamak and White River Valley for a spot in the sectional final.
