The South Putnam Middle School drama team will present “Box” in the school cafeteria on May 5 and 6.

“Box” is a middle school vignette play written by Lindsay Price and provided by Theatrefolk. A vignette play is a collection of short scenes on a theme.

The play contains comedy and drama in several scenes from a day in the life of typical middle school students.

Sometimes we choose the way the world sees us. Sometimes our box is defined by others. A box built by others can feel small, confined and impossible at times. This play questions how we handle the boxes imposed upon us and the choices we make based on our own personal boxes.

The play is directed by South Putnam middle school teacher Cathy Boyce and high school assistants Griffin Jones and July Owen. Showtimes will be Friday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door, $5 for adults and $3 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
