Gathering of Champions

Sixteen athletes and 35 student helpers participated in the first Putnam County Champions Together United Track and Field Meet at Greencastle High School Wednesday afternoon. Athletes from Greencastle, North Putnam and South Putnam were able to compete in six different events, including the long jump, softball throw, 50, 100 and 200-yard dashes and the 400-meter relay. Monetary support for the event was put forth by the Jack and Shirley Dalton Trust. “It was a great evening for the first annual Putnam County Champions Together Track & Field competition,” Greencastle athletic director Doug Greenlee said. “We hope the event will grow even bigger. A huge thank you to the many adult volunteers who made this possible.”
