Electrical Fire at Crown

The Greencastle Fire Department’s aerial truck and an engine from the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department stand outside Crown Equipment, as firefighters wrap up on an electrical fire early Sunday morning. The fire originated in a panel for an industrial-sized ceiling humidifier. Using an extension ladder, crews shut the gas and power off, after which a dry chemical extinguisher and a water can were used to extinguish the fire and cool down the humidifier. Exhaust fans were then turned on to pull out the smoke. While other crews were disregarded, the Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department covered Greencastle Fire’s station.
