In addition to the above placers, five other athletes and two relays advanced to the Bloomington North Regional next Tuesday.

The top-three athletes in each event advance to the regional round with the next four best times, heights or distances from the four sectionals that feed into the regional qualifying so that each event has 16 participants barring any ties that would increase the field.

Owens will be joined by Skyler Byrd, who finished fourth at pole vault (8-06) and Lilly Barnhart, who finished fourth in discus (101-04.50) while Cloverdale will send two runners in Asyria Ford, who finished fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:04.56) and Olivia Hemmerling, who finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles (49.85). North Putnam’s Saylor Carrell will also attend, having placed seventh in the high jump (4-10) but is in a tie with eight other individuals who cleared the height.

The Clovers will also send the 400-meter relay team of Yasmin Sorter, Lulu Savoiani, Emily Mann and Rebecca Ponzano, which finished fourth (53.23) and the Cougars will second their 3,200-meter relay team of Day, Melanie Davies, Maddie Trent and Brooke Hensley, which finished fourth (11:16.57).

Other place finishers on the night included fifth-place finishes for the South Putnam 3,200-meter relay team of Lilly Emmerich, Kelsey Custis, Elizabeth Dobson and Elise Kendall (11:21.78) and North Putnam’s Callee Riggle in the shot put (33-07.75), sixth-place finishes for Kendall in the 3,200-meter run (12:38.28), Cloverdale’s Abigail Nees in the 1,60-meter run (6:05.16) and the North Putnam 1,600-relay team of Day, Hensley, Carrell and Kassidy Hackleman (4:42.61), seventh-place finishes the Cloverdale 3,200-meter relay team of Nees, Molly Havenor, Daphanie Geiger and Ella Szczerbik (11:23.54), North Putnam’s Olivia Stewart in discus (93-01) and South Putnam’s Jasmine Guzman in the 100-meter dash (13.40) and eight-place finishes for Hackleman in the 400-meter dash (1:04.99) and long jump (14-09.50), Szczerbik in the 3,200-meter run (13:09.93), North Putnam’s Mackinley Lawson in the shot put (32-01) and Greencastle’s 1,600-meter relay team of Emma Smiley, Ashlynn Pearson, Carissa Trigg and Penny Cummings (4:50.05).

Greencastle's Kylee Owens finished third at high jump (5-03), jumping the same height as winner Karsyn Buck of Northview and second-place Emma Martin of Terre Haute North but being beaten out on jumps. All three jumpers will be top seeds at the Bloomington North Regional next week.
