Four years of hard work for DePauw University seniors will culminate on Sunday morning with commencement exercises at the university.

The ceremony is set for 10 a.m. on the East College lawn, outside the Emison Building.

The commencement speaker will be poet Ross Gay, who has published four books of poetry and is currently an English professor at Indiana University in Bloomington.

While current forecasts call for sunny skies on Sunday, in the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors. In this event, tickets will be required, which should have already been reserved by the graduates.

Guests should be in their seats by 9:45 a.m.

A livestream of the ceremony will be available at www.depauw.edu/stream.

After the commencement ceremony, faculty and graduates will recess to the Stewart Plaza area for a reception with family and guests. Faculty will gather in department areas on the nearby East College lawn. Light refreshments will be served.

The weekend’s events also include the baccalaureate ceremony at 4 p.m. Saturday in Kresge Auditorium at the Green Center for the Performing Arts. President Lori White will offer a formal address during this multi-faith celebration of the class of 2023 that features music, readings, prayers and reflections from a wide range of perspectives.

A livestream for this event will also be provided at the link above.

On Saturday evening, the university will offer DePauw Under the Stars, an evening of music and conversation for graduates and their families and guests from 8-10 p.m. at Stewart Plaza and East College lawn.
