Two dead in Floyd Township house fire

Two people died in a house fire Wednesday morning west of Heritage Lake.

Joshua Poole, 42, and Kristen Allen, 38, have been confirmed as the two deceased individuals in the home at 6596 E. CR 500 North, Fillmore.

Shortly before 8 a.m., area fire departments were called to a house fire at the location.

Fire personnel and a Putnam County Sheriff’s Office detective soon arrived to fined heavy smoke coming from the two-story home.

After fire units made entry and extinguished the fire, the bodies of Poole and Allen were discovered inside the structure. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the circumstances, the Indiana State Fire Marshall’s Office, along with Indiana State Police, were called to assist in the investgation.

Autopsies on both bodies Thursday revealed nothing suspicious.

Det. Matthew Biggs is leading the investigation for PCSO, in conjunction with the other agencies involved.

Responding fire departments included Floyd Township, Bainbridge, Fillmore and Danville.
