Retirement celebration set for Debbie Steffy

FILLMORE — After 29 years of service to South Putnam School Corporation, Fillmore Elementary School Principal Debbie Steffy is set to retire.

In her years with South Putnam, Steffy has served as a teacher, coach and administrator at various schools in the corporation.

The announcement was made by South Putnam Community Schools via social media on Monday morning.

The corporation also announced a retirement reception in Steffy’s honor is set for 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14 at South Putnam High School.

Steffy’s retirement should be formally accepted by the South Putnam School Board when it meets for its regular monthly meeting later that evening.

“We wish Debbie all the best as she steps into her next phase of life after dedicating so much of her life to the education and coaching of others,” the corporation said in the post.
