ROACHDALE — The North Putnam School Board is set to accept the resignation of Supt. Nicole Allee. However, its approval has been postponed.

The school corporation initially announced that a special board meeting would be held Friday evening. But due to power outages from Thursday’s storm, the meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 6 at 6 p.m.

The only listed agenda item on the board’s announcement was “approval of resignation of superintendent.”

Allee was approved as the new superintendent of Covington Community Schools in Fountain County on Monday, June 26, a school representative confirmed.

While there had been no prior public indications of her intent to leave, Allee was confronted by a number of upset citizens during North Putnam’s board meeting in May, with suggestions that it relieve her of her duties. The board took no such action.

Allee has been with the corporation for five years, having been hired in June 2018.
