Nearly one week after a line of storms swept across Indiana, knocking out power to much of Putnam County, approximately 300 locations remained without power as Wednesday morning.

Nearly all of these were Parke County REMC members, with the utility reporting 300 members without power as of 10:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Chadd Jenkins, CEO of the Rockville-based cooperative, was even in the field helping crews with power restoration as of Wednesday morning.

“All work has been completed safely, and we will work until everyone is back on,” Jenkins told the Banner Graphic.

As of Wednesay morning, Duke Energy was reporting zero outages in the Putnam County area, while Hendricks Power was reporting just one in the Cloverdale zip code. However, it was unclear if this lone outage was even from Thursday’s storms or some other issue.

The derecho storm that swept through Indiana and Illinois on Thursday afternoon carried with it high winds that left an estimated 400,000 residents without power.

In Putnam County, most residents were without power for some amount of time, though the outage was less than an hour for some.
