Kent Charles Hathorn

Kent Charles Hathorn, 83, of Cloverdale, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

He was born Dec. 30, 1939, in Indianapolis, the son of Charles Robert Hathorn and Naomi (Richardson) Nichols.

He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.

Kent retired from Witco-Richardson in Indianapolis, where he worked for over 30 years. After his retirement he worked at the Cloverdale Feed Mill and PCCS. In his youth he delivered papers for several years in Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Robert (Betty Sue) Hathorn and Naomi (Wiley) Nichols.

Kent is survived by his wife, Linda (White) Hathorn; children Charles “Charlie” (Nikki) Hathorn and Kent Allen Hathorn; daughter Donna (Kurt) Harris; grandchildren Mark Hathorn, Kristina Hathorn, Kristopher Harris, Karlie (Grant) Harris, Kurtis Harris, Keith (Sabrina) Hathorn, Nicholas “Nick” (Christen) Hathorn, Charles James “CJ” Hathorn, Zachary Fletcher, Makayla Walker and Johnny Fletcher; a great-granddaughter, Delilah Jane Fletcher; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Junior.

Kent was a dog lover and the more canine friends there were, the happier he was. He also had breakfast every Monday morning with his beloved friends at the Millgrove Diner.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 14 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at the Cloverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 13 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
