County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 1 a.m. Ashli R. Atwater, 26, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Wednesday

• At 2:19 p.m. Mark A. Dollinger, 27, Greencastle, was taken into custody for a Marion County warrant and for probation violation.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to eight incidents since last Saturday:

• At 7:43 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Reese Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:47 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:53 a.m.

• At 3:16 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 821 S. Fillmore Rd. for a power issue. Firefighters arrived at 3:28 and found a tree that was across power lines behind the residence. Duke Energy was contacted, and GFD went back into service at 3:43 p.m.

• At 11:52 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 950 Deer Field Dr. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:59 and were advised by the homeowner that the alarm was accidental and that the system had been reset. GFD went back into service at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday.

• At 6:58 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of Bloomington Street and Veterans Memorial Highway. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 7:02 a.m. and assisted with patient care and removed debris. GFD went back into service at 7:53 a.m.

• At 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Alpha Tau Omega at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:34 and determined the alarm was due to dust from construction. GFD went back into service at 8:42 a.m.

• At 11:54 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of Indianapolis Road and Bloomington Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 11:57 and assisted with patient care and cleaned up fluid and debris. GFD went back into service at 12:34 p.m.

• At 5:58 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Deer Meadow Primary School for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:01 p.m. and determined that there was a heat build-up in the boiler room. The room was ventilated and turned over to maintenance while the alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 6:31 p.m.

• At 7:27 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:33 and did not determine what caused the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:52 a.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for five medical assists in this timeframe.
