Helen M. Sutherlin

Helen M. Sutherlin, 90, formally of Cloverdale, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

She was born in Lebanon, Va., on Aug. 25, 1932 to the late Hobert and Hazel (Dickenson) Gibson.

She married Ralph “Vinerd” Sutherlin Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1998.

She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and a true matriarch of the family always making sure everyone around her was taken care of.

She was a member of the Cloverdale Nazarene Church as well as in Ladoga.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Harsh and husband Ronald, of Crawfordsville; her son, William “Bill” and Kathleen Sutherlin of Crawfordsville; grandchildren Jason Wells and Drew Sutherlin; three great-grandchildren and brother Howard Gibson.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lillian Wheeler, Hines Gibson and Kenneth Gibson.

Funeral services for Helen will be held Saturday, July 29 at 1 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time.
