Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent crash.

• At 6:49 p.m. on Monday, July 24, Ricardo Dominguez, 18, Indianapolis, was eastbound on Interstate 70 near the 44-mile marker in a 2010 Nissan Altima.

For an unknown reason, Dominguez lost control of the car and entered the median, where it flipped at least once.

Upon the arrival of Deputy Josh Clark, the driver and passengers were already in an ambulance for treatment. He attempted to speak to them, but there was a language barrier.

A witness in a semi tractor who had been three cars back told Clark that the vehicles had all been in the right lane when the Nissan looked like it was changing lanes. It then began to swerve back and forth between the lanes before going sideways and then flipping once or twice in the median.

The semi driver stopped to assist and called 911.

Dominguez suffered minor bleeding to his lower arm. The front seat passenger, 18-year-old Priscia Carranza of Indianapolis, also suffered minor bleeding to her lower arm. A left rear passenger, Luisa Galindo, 27, Indianapolis, had minor bleeding on her chest.

The car was towed. Clark estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.
