David Lee Hodge

David Lee Hodge, age 70, of Cloverdale, passed away Aug. 17, 2023.

He was born in Greencastle June 22, 1953, to the late Estil and Freda (Haines) Hodge.

A lifelong resident of the Belle Union area, he graduated from Eminence High School in 1971.

He married Jennifer (French) Hodge on Oct. 19, 1974, and she survives.

While logging millions of miles as a truck driver, his true happiness was being with friends and family. After his retirement from FedEx Freight in November 2020 after 26 years of service, he enjoyed returning to his love of farming and nature. A devoted Mopar fan, David, also known as “Superbee,” was proud to show off his Dodge truck at car shows and just cruising around.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael (Natalie) Hodge of Greencastle, Wayne (Jannifer) Hodge of Cloverdale and Mechele Hodge of Plainfield; and four grandchildren, Jaxon Hodge, Catherine Hodge, Kaley Hodge and Caroline Hodge.

A granddaughter, Kylee Hodge, preceded him in death.

Friends are invited to join his family for a life-remembered graveside service Aug. 26 at 12 p.m., Walnut Chapel Cemetery, 6521 S. CR 1000 East., Cloverdale, IN 46120.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Walnut Chapel Cemetery street plan project and can be sent to the cemetery caretaker at 6756 E. CR 700 South, Greencastle, IN 46135.
