County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 1:41 p.m. Dante T. Hodgkin, 30, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a court order.

Wednesday

• At 11:50 p.m. Eric M. Bloom, 27, Greenwood, was booked in for domestic battery.

• At 10:23 p.m. Ray N. Akers, 62, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

• At 12:56 p.m. Brittanie N. Kelley, 35, Terre Haute, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 1:19 a.m. Christopher S. Burrows, 37, homeless, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 7:55 p.m. Matthew J. Barth, 39, Terre Haute, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 5:29 p.m. Patrick C. Stewart, 35, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 7:34 a.m. Ashley D. Karish, 40, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a writ.

• At 4:02 a.m. Franklin D.R. Boehm Jr., 50, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and on an out-of-county warrant.

Monday

• At 11:49 p.m. Donald R. Evans, 41, Roachdale, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three incidents between Monday evening and Wednesday afternoon:

• At 5:22 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Greencastle Middle School for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:23 and determined the alarm was due to a malfunctioning popcorn machine. The alarm was not sounding on their arrival but still dialing into dispatch. A school administrator contacted maintenance and the alarm company, and GFD went back into service at 5:31 p.m. The issue was later reported at resolved.

• At 1:18 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:20 and determined the alarm was due to hair spray. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:48 p.m.

• At 3:21 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of North Arlington and East Washington streets. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 3:24 and cleaned up debris. GFD went back into service at 3:43 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for eight medical assists and had one disregard in this timeframe.
