County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Tuesday

• At 11:27 p.m. Brian A. Wallace, 23, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

Monday

• At 1:34 p.m. Anthoy M.B. Jackson, 37, Greenastle, was taken into custody for probation violation.

• At 11:55 a.m. Heather L. Ferris, 44, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 11:27 a.m. James W. Frazier, 37, Cloverdale, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to seven incidents between Monday morning and Wednesday evening:

• At 8:37 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 496 Glenview Dr. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:43 and were advised by the homeowner that the alarm was due to cooking and was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:53 a.m.

• At 11 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to ResCare for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:07 and determined the alarm was due to construction. The alarm system was reset upon their arrival. GFD went back into service at 11:08 a.m.

• At 3:44 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:47 and determined the alarm was due to hair care products. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:59 p.m.

• At 5:56 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Warne Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:01 p.m. and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 6:07 p.m.

• At 1:19 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident without injuries at 3709 S. CR 300 West. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 1:27 and cleaned up fluid and debris. GFD went back into service at 1:54 p.m.

• At 4:09 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was requested to assist maintenance with a person locked in their room at Alpha Tau Omega at DePauw. Firefighters arrived at 4:13 and the person was freed. GFD went back into service at 4:19 p.m.

• At 6:04 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched for a large tree in the roadway at 2363 S. CR 250 West. Firefighters found the tree at 6:12 and removed it. GFD went back into service at 6:39 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for 10 medical assists in this timeframe.
