The Northview Knights came into McAnally Center Wednesday night and handed the Tiger Cubs a straight-set (25-14, 25-16,25-14) loss to stay undefeated in the Western Indiana Conference volleyball action.

The Knights wasted little time getting started, jumping out to a quick 5-1 lead as Keira Lucas had two kills in that stretch.

Greencastle rallied to tie it up after an ace from Maddie Landry but Northview answered with a big streak, scoring 13 of the next 16 points to take control of the first set as Karsyn Buck and Saylor Clark combined for five kills in the run.

Brinley Deakins would finish off the first set with an ace to take it 25-14.

Greencastle came out in the second set looking to even it up, dashing out to a 9-1 advantage. Kills from Keely Amis, Allie Landry, Meilani York and Maddie Landry had the Cubs rolling early.

The powerful hitting Knights would start a comeback, getting back to within one at 14-13 after a six-point run. After a Madi Plew kill for Greencastle, the Knights ran off the next 10 points to take control of the second set, with Lucas and Buck doing most of the damage. Lucas would add another smash to help close the set out 25-16.

The Knights again would use a series of runs to get the upper hand in the third set. Lucas had it going early with four kills to make it 8-4.

It would be all Northview for the rest of the match as its offense was firing on all cylinders, keeping the Cubs on their heels, taking 10 of the last 13 points. Saylor Clark had three kills in the stretch and Kenzie Crabb added two herself as the visitors would take the final set 25-14.

Amis and Makenzie Creviston headed up the Greencastle attack with five kills apiece, with Creviston adding three blocks. Maddie Landry finished with a pair of aces.

Lucas finished with 14 kills on the night and Buck also in double figures with 11. Saylor Clark and Audrey Lee each had six kills apiece. Clark added three blocks with Buck and Rachel Rounds each with two. Northview finished with four service aces.
