Investigation ongoing in Fillmore stabbing incident

No charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon in a Friday stabbing incident in Fillmore.

Authorities were called to a residence on the north side of town near Hoosier Market shortly before 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The incident in question involved two females in the back yard of the residence who go into some sort of altercation.

Detective Capt. Doug Nally of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said no charges have yet been filed as he tries to piece through various interviews with both the participants and several witnesses.

The victim was airlifted to the hospital, but had been released as of Monday, at which point Nally was able to speak to her.

Although the victim has been identified in other media, Nally declined to name any of those involved as he continues to try and determine the nature of the incident.

Once the veteran detective feels he has gathered all available evidence, he will forward his findings on to Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter for a decision on formal charges.
