It’s a Putnam County kind of night Friday at the Indianapolis Marriott East ballroom, with local agencies capturing five different awards at the 2023 Indiana Emergency Response Conference Awards Dinner. Among the awards were Heroic Rescue of the Year for the June Fern Cliff rescue, Basic Life Support Provider of the Year to PMH Ambulance, Advanced Life Support Provider of the Year to Putnam County EMS, Medical Director of the Year to Dr. Paige Ostahowski of PC EMS and Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year to longtime Roachdale Chief Mike Poole. A full write-up of the awards will be published later this week.

  • Congratulations to all of the winners. The actions of the recognized individuals makes Putnam County a special place. My personal congratulations to Mike Poole. Without his professional response at a serious auto accident some 22 years ago, life would be much different for my family. Thanks, Mike!
