Rock Your School

Disguised as Donkey Kong, Greencastle Middle School science teacher Dan Summerlot fires up the students Friday morning during “Rock Your School” day. The teachers and students broke out of their normal routines Friday with learning activities based on a theme for each grade level. See more scenes from the event on page 8A.

Sticking to her math subject matter, seventh-grade teacher Jane Roberson is decked out in wild game show host attire as she introduces her students to the classic gameshow Password.

Elsewhere, English teacher Tanis Nicklasch sticks to the eighth-grade theme of camping, but this is Revolutionary-era camping, so Nicklasch is outfitting Janae Greenlee in period-appropriate attire.

Meanwhile, with a sixth-grade theme of Mario Kart, a group of sixth-graders utilize coding to map their own course for a tine robot.

Setting the tone for "Rock Your School" for everyone else at Greencastle Middle School, the office staff is dressed up as various superheroes, including (front) Assistant Principal Alicia Cupp as Elastigirl, (standing from left) Principal Celina Clements as Scarlet Witch, secretary Melinda Short as Captain America, Athletic Director Bryce Rector as Clark Kent, guidance counselor Jessica Lawless as Wonder Woman and secretary Karen Birt as Batgirl.
