County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

• At 4:07 p.m. on Thursday, Rebecca S. Bruner, 43, Brazil, was lodged at the jail for failure to appear.

City Police

Four recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 5:44 a.m. Sunday, Yassine El Maazouzi, 20, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Justin Herd.

Taken into custody at the McClure’s parking lot off Bloomington Street, El Maazouzi was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

Under portable breathalyzer testing, he registered .138 percent blood-alcohol concentration. Indiana, .08 percent is the legal limit for intoxication.

• At 11:40 a.m. Saturday, James White, 28, Brazil, was arrested by Det. Darrel Bunten.

Taken into custody at a Castlebury Apartment, White was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and strangulation. He was also held on a Vigo County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of resisting law enforcement.

• At 11:38 a.m. Thursday, Shawn Mansfield, 49, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Alec Pettit.

Taken into custody at a Houck Road residence, Mansfield was lodged in the Putnam County Jail for battery resulting in bodily injury.

• At 11:33 p.m. Tuesday, Mary Ann Ferguson, 46, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Herd.

Taken into custody at Indianapolis Road and Percy Julian Drive, Ferguson was lodged in the jail for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-refusal, resisting law enforcement and battery on law enforcement. Under portable breathalyzer testing, she registered .327 percent blood-alcohol concentration.

One recent citation was issued by city officers:

• At 6:30 p.m. Friday, Alan Aynes, 25, Cloverdale, was ticketed by Officer Herd.

Stopped at State Road 240 and Bloomington Street, Aynes was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to 11 incidents between Thursday afternoon and Sunday evening:

• At 1:25 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at 3108 S. CR 275 East. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 1:28 and found that no fluids or debris needed to be cleaned up. GFD went back into service at 1:41 p.m.

• At 1:50 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 510 Maple Ave. for an animal rescue. Firefighters arrived at 1:54 and freed a blind and deaf dog that was stuck behind a water heater. GFD went back into service at 2:26 p.m.

• At 3:26 p.m. on Friday, GFD went to assist the Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department with a vehicle fire at 25 N. CR 600 West. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 3:36 and extinguished the fire. GFD went back into service at 4:55 p.m.

• At 3:40 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Gamma Delta at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:46 and did not determine what caused the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:57 p.m.

• At 10:10 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Sigma Alpha Epsilon at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:46 and did not determine what caused the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 10:22 p.m.

GFD received a direct call for a smoke detector beeping at the apartments at 620 Anderson St. Firefighters arrived at 2:48 and determined that the alarm was malfunctioning. The detector was removed and a resident advised they would contact maintenance. GFD went back into service at 3:11 a.m.

• At 12:09 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Breadworks for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:13 and were advised that the alarm system had been reset. No determination as to the alarm’s cause was reported. GFD went back into service at 12:14 p.m.

• At 5:33 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Gamma Delta at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:34 and determined the alarm was due to construction. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:43 p.m.

• At 3:42 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Delta Theta at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:45 and determined that a fire extinguisher had been discharged inside and activated the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:14 a.m.

• At 5:46 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Kappa Psi at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:49 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:48 p.m.

• At 6:36 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of Bloomington Street and Veterans Memorial Highway. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:41 and cleaned debris from the roadway. GFD went back into service at 6:47 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for five medical assists and found no incident on one dispatch during this timeframe.
