Don Flint Blood Drive set Saturday at Greencastle Masonic lodge
Named for a late member of the lodge who was a prolific blood donor, Greencastle Masonic Temple Lodge 47 will host a blood drive on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The Don Flint Blood Drive will take place from 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at the lodge, 118 E. Washington St.
Our community’s health care facilities face a shortage of blood supplies more often than the public may be aware. A blood supply shortage makes a profound impact on patients in need of life-saving transfusions, whether they are undergoing surgeries, battling serious illnesses or recovering from accidents.
The need for blood is urgent, and Indiana Blood Center needs the public’s help to make a difference.
The reasons for the blood shortage are multifaceted, including challenges posed by the pandemic, changes in donation patterns and an increasing demand for blood products. To address this crisis, the Blood Center is calling upon compassionate individuals to step up and become heroes by donating blood.
These donations can literally save lives. One pint of blood can help up to three people, and the impact of this selfless act extends far beyond the immediate moment. It offers hope to patients, relieves the anxiety of their loved ones, and ensures that our healthcare system can continue to provide the highest quality care. Anyone interested in making an impact in this way may do so by scheduling an appointment at https://tinyurl.com/9ta894dt.
The public is also asked to encourage others to get involved and donate.
