With the Indiana Extension Homemakers celebrating 110 years of service to the various areas throughout the state, Putnam County Commissioners (seated, from left) David Berry, Tom Helmer and Rick Woodall sign a proclamation recognizing the week of Oct. 22-28 as Extension Homemakers Week in Putnam County. They are joined for the signing by Kelly Robertson, who is not only a longtime Putnam County Extension Homemaker, but is currently serving as Terre Haute District representative for the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association. Putnam County officers for this year are President Cassie Beasley, Vice President Megan Robertson, Treasurer Jerry Glass, Secretary Sandy Glass, adviser Tanya Pearson and Extension Agent Abbi Smith. The local Extension Homemakers strive to fulfill their duties as stated in the IEHA mission statement: “To strengthen families through continuing education, leadership development and volunteer community support.” The local clubs will celebrate the week with lunch at the Putnam Inn on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
