Salvation Army seeks bell ringers for Red Kettle Campaign

Tuesday, November 7, 2023

The Salvation Army of Putnam County will kick of the annual Red Kettle Campaign on Nov. 18 at Greencastle Walmart and Nov. 24 at the Greencastle Kroger.

Volunteers are needed to ring the bell at both locations on Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout the holiday season. Businesses, churches, community organizations, school groups, individuals and families who want to make a difference in Putnam County are encouraged to ring the bell.

Ringers are asked to commit to ringing for one or two hours.

The money raised in Putnam County remains in the community and will be used to assist those in need in the community throughout 2024. Services offered by the Salvation Army of Putnam County include assistance for food, clothing, utilities, medication, rent and disaster relief as well as crisis-related needs.

It is the hope of the Salvation Army of Putnam County that services can grow, but volunteers are needed this season to raise the funds that will provide for these services in the county.

Volunteers are also needed to serve as advisory council members.

Those interested in ringing the bell or volunteering as a council member may do so by contacting Jo Ellen Cook at 765-720-1468.

People wishing to donate may drop off a check at First National Bank in Greencastle. Checks should be made to The Salvation Army of Putnam County.
