Boller joined by all-new council in Bainbridge government

The Town of Bainbridge will return its clerk-treasurer while seeing an entirely new town council come Jan. 1.

On Tuesday, Bobbi Boller retained her clerk-treasurer seat over Pamela Kashman by a count of 149-50 (74.87 percent).

Boller was not available for comment following the election.

Meanwhile, with no incumbents running in the at-large race for three town council seats, two former councilmen will return in Joel Thompson and Jerry Lents.

However, the top vote-getter in the race was Doug Lairmore, who claimed 152 votes. Thompson was next with 134 votes, and Lents was third with 111.

Former Town Marshal Rodney Fenwick was the odd man out with 98 votes.

Lairmore, a Hendricks County native, is looking to make a difference in his adopted hometown.

“I want to thank everybody who voted,” Lairmore said. “If everybody works together, we can make this a great town.”

Beyond thanking voters, Thompson wasn’t quick to make many statements.

“I thank my fellow residents, and that’s it at this time,” Thompson said. “We have to go through some stuff before we make a lot of big decisions. We’re going to have to do it as a council, not just me.”

Thompson was previously on the council for eight years.

“The town has changed some since then on what people want and don’t want and what we do and don’t need,” Thompson said. “I didn’t have an agenda or make any promises because it’s a three-member board.”

Lents was not available for comment.
