• At 4:27 p.m. Friday, Johnathan G. Hyde, 21, Roachdale, was arrested by Officer Alec Pettit.

Taken into custody on a gravel lot along North Jackson Street near the viaduct at the north side of town, he was housed at the jail for domestic battery.

Two property-damage accidents within a 15-minute timeframe occurred Friday afternoon on the courthouse square.

• At 4:22 p.m., a two-vehicle mishap occurred at Jackson and Franklin streets as Megan Yoder, 43, Greencastle, was westbound on Franklin on the north side of the square in a 2020 Jeep Gladiator, owned by Trimak Building Services, Brownsburg.

Yoder was attempting to cross Jackson Street and with her vision obscured by a stopped semi, pulled into the path of a southbound 2019 Jeep Compass, driven by Camryn Gibson, 24, Greencastle. The drivers were unable to avoid a collision.

Officer Luke Brown estimated property damage at $2,500-$5,000.

Yoder’s vehicle had damage to the passenger’s front corner, while the Gibson vehicle had damage to the driver’s-side front corner. There were no injuries reported.

• At 4:35 p.m., another two-vehicle accident occurred at Washington and Jackson streets.

William Hatfield, 19, Greencastle, was westbound on Washington Street, poised to turn left onto South Jackson Street in a 2010 Ford Focus.

Meanwhile, Leanna York, 60, Greencastle, was eastbound on Washington Street, continuing through the intersection while driving a 2021 Ford Explorer.

Hatfield did not see the York vehicle, Officer Alec Pettit reported, and a collision occurred, resulting in an estimated $5,000-$10,000 damage.

Both vehicles sustained damage to the driver’s side. The Hatfield car was towed. There were no injuries reported.
