PIC OF THE DAY: That Dusty Trail

Wednesday, November 15, 2023
On an otherwise crystal clear Wednesday morning, workers on the U.S. 231/Bloomington Street project stir up a cloud of dust likely to make Pigpen of “Peanuts” fame cough. Utilizing both a leaf blower and a street sweeper, crews from Rieth Riley Construction are clearing fallen leaves and other debris from the stripped-down roadway, apparently in advance of laying asphalt on the road. Despite delays to the project this summer, contractors have said the Bloomington Street portion of the U.S. 231 project through Greencastle will be done by the end of November.

  • I'll believe it when I see it...what about the rest of the current construction projects? Will they be done by "winter" also?

  • I am grateful that they are replacing aging infrastructure. Has it been a short term nuisance? Yep. Is that worth it for the longer term, yep.
