One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 3:12 a.m. Wednesday, Theresa A. Bailey, 68, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Angela Taylor.

With officers responding to a Madison Street residence on a reported welfare check call, Bailey was taken into custody for battery on law enforcement and lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Meanwhile, two recent accidents were reported in the North Jackson Street construction zone:

• At 11:38 a.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle mishap occurred at North Jackson Street and Shadowlawn Avenue as a northbound 2024 Freightliner school bus, owned by North Putnam School Corporation, was stopped for the red light in the construction zone, driver Thomas Williams, 77, Bainbridge, told Det. Darrel Bunten.

Traveling behind the school bus was a 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer, driven by Brandon Warren, 39, Greencastle, who said traffic was moving slowly when a southbound motorist began yelling at him that he couldn’t turn onto Shadowlawn. Warren continued moving forward to allow room for the other driver’s turn, not realizing that the school bus had come to a complete stop and a collision occurred.

The accident resulted in an estimated $5,000-$10,000 damage to the rear of the bus and to the front bumper, grille, hood and right and left quarterpanels of the Warren vehicle.

A student passenger on the bus complained of pain to the right side of the head but was not transported.

• At 6:03 p.m. Monday, another two-vehicle accident occurred at North Jackson and Green streets as Lewis Spiker, 68, Greencastle, was attempting to exit the Dollar General parking lot and cross Jackson to go west on Green Street.

Sgt. Zach Rhine, who estimated total damage at $5,000-$10,000, reported the Spiker failed to see a southbound 2010 Ford Fusion, driven by Zoey Storm, 18, Roachdale, and pulled into its path, resulting in a collision.

No injuries were reported but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
