County Jail

Seven people were booked int he Putnam County Jail recently.

Saturday

• At 7:48 p.m. Ralph J. Johnson, 45, Terre Haute, was lodged at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 2:48 p.m. Jessica L. Volland, 51, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for trafficking with an inmate and possession of a controlled substance.

Friday

• At 1:24 p.m. Kristopher M. Darling, 39, Fillmore, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 12:20 a.m. Brandon L. Tapp, 32, Martinsville, was lodged at the jail on a writ of body attachment.

• At midnight, Bryant T. Jones, 26, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 11:50 p.m. Samuel J. Weekly, 43, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 11:25 p.m. Alexander T. Hayes, 22, Greencastle, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to four incidents between Thursday and Monday:

• At 3:21 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Gamma Delta at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:28 and determined the alarm was due to a fire extinguisher being discharged inside the building. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:38 a.m.

• At 7:28 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Wilson House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:29 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:31 p.m.

• At 4:38 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:42 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:53 p.m.

• At 9:21 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Minshall House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived soon after and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:31 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for seven medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
