Carols for a Cause set Friday at Creative Castle

Wednesday, December 13, 2023

An evening of music and goodwill is set Friday in Greencastle.

Carols for a Cause is an annual concert event, hosted by local musicians Bobbie Lancaster and Derek Chastain, to benefit Beyond Homeless Inc. The show is set for 6-8 p.m. at Creative Castle, 16 S. Jackson St., Greencastle.

Cost is a $10 donation to Beyond Homeless. This may be paid at the door or by reserving a seat online at www.creativecastlegc.com/events. Anyone unable to make it but wanting to support the cause is encouraged to make a donation directly to the shelter.

All proceeds from the event will go toward providing shelter, warmth and support to those in need. The community is encouraged to come together to make a positive impact on the lives of local residents facing homelessness.

Local musicians will take the stage, showcasing a blend of original songs and timeless carols. It’s an opportunity to gather friends and family for an evening of joyous tunes and community spirit.

The show will feature Lancaster, Gus Moon, Kaitlyn Kissel and Micah Layne, Dustin Scoggins, Haley McGinnis, Cathie Malach and Chris White, Evan Lamar, Chastain and Friends and more.

In addition to the donations at the door, 5-10 percent of each store purchase during the event will be donated to Beyond Homeless.

Anyone interested in lending a hand during the event may contact Chastain at 765-525-2233.

In addition to the show, there is an ongoing free children’s music workshop at Beyond Homeless teaching music through the use of hand chimes. The workshop is led by musician Micah Layne.

Children (and adults) of all ages are welcome to attend this free event each Tuesday through Friday during the holiday season from 4-5 p.m.
