The accident occurred at County Road 275 East and CR 150 South as Courtney Mays, 32, Cloverdale, was driving a 2014 Ford Escape and reported a weird shake in her steering.

That caused her to run off the south side of the road, striking a guy wire attached to a utility pole.

Officer McDaniel reported that James Mandleco, 79, Greencastle, was northbound in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado when he was forced to stop for a vehicle in front of him turning.

Mandleco said he barely had time to stop to avoid a collision when his pickup was struck in the rear by a 2017 Mazda CX-9, driven by Lily Monnett, 20, Cloverdale.

Monnett said she was northbound and looked down momentarily to set her cruise control when the Mandleco vehicle stopped in front of her for a turning vehicle.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $5,000-$10,000. There were no injuries.
