CLOVERDALE — A Cloverdale woman has been arrested and charged in an investigation involving alleged child seduction as a school employee.

According to a release, the Indiana State Police began the investigation in March, after information was received from the Department of Child Services about allegations of child seduction and dissemination of explicit material from an employee of Cloverdale Schools.

It was determined that Mandy Evans, 46, allegedly distributed sexual photos and communications with minors who were in her care through Cloverdale Schools. These alleged actions took place locally.

The Cloverdale School Board accepted Evans’ resignation as home-to-school adviser in April.

With digital forensics conducted in the investigation, the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant for Evans’ arrest on Wednesday. Trooper Kevin Fowler took Evans into custody the same evening without incident.

She was booked in the Putnam County Jail at 8:31 p.m. and is being held with no bond allowed.

Evans has been charged with three Level 5 felony counts of child seduction as a child care worker, as well as three Level 6 felony counts of dissemination of matter harmful to minors.

The investigating officer was Master Trooper Ryan Winters.

  • So the investigation began in March and she was arrested yesterday. So was she continually employed at Cloverdale schools until yesterday?

  • Fair trial. Vigorous defense. Guilty verdict and maximum sentence. Goodbye.

  • Why did it take so long to arrest her? How disturbing it is, that she was even allowed to stay in the school system! She should have been suspended until the investigation was completed!!! I have NO sympathy for a person like this!!

  • Nurseforlife…

I also have no sympathy for a person like her, if convicted. I believe innocent until proven guilty is important for our justice system. It sometimes takes months for the DA to make a strong enough case for a conviction, without reasonable doubt.

She saw the writing on the wall and resigned from the school system once the investigation began.
