Equipment Fire at POET

The Greencastle Fire Department’s aerial truck is staged as firefighters tackle a malfunction at the POET bioprocessing plant near Cloverdale Monday evening. The Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department requested personnel at about 6:15 p.m. for what was found to be a hammer mill on fire. The fire was marked out at about 7:05 p.m., after which units were back in service by 7:25 p.m. No injuries were reported, while damage was confined to the hammer mill. The Cataract Volunteer Fire Department also covered Cloverdale Township Fire’s station during the response.
