Dorothy Marie Snider

Dorothy Marie Snider, 87, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born Sept. 5, 1936 in Parke County, the daughter of Hobert and Laura Viola (May) Martin.

She was a graduate of Bridgeton High School.

Dorothy was a homemaker; she loved taking care of and being with her family. She also worked at IBM in her earlier years.

She was a member of Lena United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Home Ec Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Florence Alexander; brothers Alfred, Ralph, Jack E., Max and Merle; and infants Kenneth and Leslie Martin.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bernard Snider; children Jeff (Robin) Snider and Anita (Gerry) Webb; grandchildren Hollie (Mike) Fowler, Hannah Mitchell, Tanner Snider and fiancée Keeliegh and Ben Webb; great-grandchildren Addison and Spencer Fowler and Enslie and Eli Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Little Walnut Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 at the funeral home.
