Second hike of year set Saturday at Nature Park

DePauw Nature Park west of Greencastle will be the site of the next Putnam Parks and Pathways hike, set Saturday, Feb. 10.

Putnam Parks and Pathways’ second hike of 2024 is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at the DePauw University Nature Park, west of Greencastle.

The group will meet in the parking lot and hike to the quarry where participants will get a history of the quarry and its operations and the geologic history of the rocks found there.

The hike will then switch to what lives in the quarry and the effect visitors can have when they visit.

DePauw staff members will be there to share their interests and knowledge about this unique habitat.
