Danny Craig O’Neal left this world and entered eternal glory on Feb. 6, 2024. He died in his home with family by his side.

Born in Greencastle to Henry and Martha (King) O’Neal on Jan. 23, 1944, Dan was the second of five children.

He spent his formative years in Greencastle then attended Olivet Nazarene University.

Dan worked as an auto mechanic and assembly line worker Ford Motor Company during his college years. Instead of completing college, however, Dan moved to California, where he continued working in the auto field until he entered the plastics industry as a service technician for a large plastics machinery manufacturer. From there, Dan became a private business owner, having founded several successful businesses in the injection molding industry, an industry in which he worked passionately for nearly 60 years.

Dan deeply loved his family. He was a loving and devoted husband and proud father to four children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren (with two on the way). He was also a deeply committed Christian who loved people, and who treated friends as family. He was happiest when he was surrounded by people he loved.

Dan moved to Tennessee for retirement and enjoyed spending time traveling to see family and friends as often as he could. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved classic cars, boats and motorcycles, and enjoyed many years of racing his dirt bike through the Southern California desert. He passed on his love for adventure to his children and grandchildren alike.

Above all, Dan was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and was committed to helping others know him, too. A lifelong member of The Church of the Nazarene, Dan served the church in various ways as he sought to minister to others in the name of Jesus.

Dan is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and three of his siblings.

He will be buried in California, with a funeral service held in Tennessee on March 2, 2024, at 11 a.m.
