Fabe to share early history of photography at PCPL
In addition to being an author, artist and photographer, over the years Stuart Fabe of rural Greencastle has also assembled a collection of early 19th century cameras.
Based on these cameras and the knowledge he’s gained, Fabe will give a presentation on early photography at the Putnam County Public Library.
“Antique Cameras: A history of photography through camera evolution” will take place from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 in the Kiwanis Room.
Fabe’s slideshow will be a guide through the first 60 years of photography, exploring several important camera types: Daguerreotype, wet plate, dry plate, stereo and multi-lens cameras, detective cameras, tintypes, carte de visites, cabinet cards and early film.
