Jeffrey Charles Rowe, a source of endless laughter and joy, passed away on Feb. 5, 2024 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Born on Jan. 29, 1972, Jeff’s infectious humor and zest for life endeared him to all who knew him.

Jeff’s love for adventure began in Greencastle, where he spent his formative years until completing his junior year of high school. Following that, he briefly resided in Onalaska, Wis., where he graduated from Onalaska High School, before ultimately making his home in Knoxville.

When he was 17, Jeff’s life took a challenging turn when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. With unwavering courage, Jeff fought bravely, enjoying a 20-year remission that allowed him to live life to the fullest. During this time, he dedicated himself to spreading hope, designing “Beat cancer” coins and embarking on cross-country bike rides with the Spokes of Hope crew, lifting the spirits of cancer patients along the way.

Though Jeff’s health journey was filled with ups and downs, his resilience and humor never wavered. Even in his toughest moments, he remained a source of light and inspiration to all who knew him.

Jeff’s idea of a good time involved two wheels or a paddle — he was a biking and kayaking enthusiast, though his battles with the Tennessee River often ended with his keys and phones taking an involuntary plunge.

Jeff’s time at Bear Paw Bikes in Knoxville wasn’t merely a job — it was a cornerstone of his life. It was where his passion for adventure truly flourished and where he found a community that embraced his spirit wholeheartedly.

Jeff’s family was his rock. He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Adrian Rowe, who was the light of his life; along with his wife, Becki Rowe; devoted sister Linda (Bob) Littrell; brother Scott (Sue) Rowe; many nieces and nephews; and aunts Janet Rowe and Barbara Presley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Russella Rowe.

In lieu of mournful goodbyes, the family invites you to honor Jeff’s memory by living life to the fullest, sharing a joke and spreading kindness wherever you go.

Though Jeff may have bid us farewell, his laughter will linger in our memories, a testament to a life rich in courage, humor and boundless love.

Until we meet again, pedal on, dear friend.
